The form fills with what the site shows today. Change what needs changing and leave the rest.

Your name and title
Your department is set by the College and is shown here so you can confirm it.
Including any form you prefer, such as an initial.
One per line, 110 characters each. Put the title you lead with first, because that is the one the faculty card shows.
Optional. Shown on your profile page under your titles, and not on your faculty card.
Contact
As you want a student or a parent to reach you.
Set by the College. It routes the Write to button on your page.
For example: Tuesday and Thursday, 2 to 4 pm.
Your faculty card
The short card that carries you on department and major pages. Two fields, both capped, because the cards sit in a row together.
One line, 120 characters. A list of subjects rather than a sentence.
One or two sentences on what draws you to the work. 50 words, and the counter shows where you are. Nothing here is cut for you — the submit waits until it fits.
Your profile page
Longer writing lives here, where length costs nothing. One paragraph per line, and a blank line between paragraphs. If something has landed under the wrong heading, move it — that is partly what this form is for.
Up to 300 words.
Up to 250 words.
Degree, field, institution, year — one per line.
One position per line.
One per line, in the form you cite it.
One per line.
Chosen from the catalog. A tutorial or special topic the catalog does not list can be typed instead by scrolling to the end of the list and selecting “Something not in the catalog.”
Service, departments and programs
Where else your work sits at the College. Choosing one puts you on that page alongside everyone else who works there — listed as a colleague, not marked as an affiliate. Leave both empty if neither applies.
Committees, advising roles, and other service to the College — one per line.
Departments other than your own where you teach or hold an appointment.
Centers, institutes, and programs you take part in.
Your photograph
Your current photograph is shown. Attach a new one only if you want it changed.
- Head and shoulders, facing the camera, eyes near the top third of the frame.
- Leave room around your head and shoulders. A tightly framed photograph cannot be cropped to match the rest of the faculty.
- At least 800 pixels on the shorter side. Larger is better; it will be cropped square.
- JPEG or PNG, under 8 MB.
- No filters, no phone portrait blur, and nothing cropped from a group photograph.
- The background stays as photographed. Cropping and resizing are the only changes made.
Your changes go to the College's web team, who publish them. Nothing on the site changes the moment you submit.

A teaching statement, for example
I teach the seminar as a working room rather than an audience. Students spend the first three weeks arguing about evidence before they write a sentence about it, because the writing gets sharper once they know what is at stake in getting it wrong.
By October they are bringing me their own questions, and my job shifts to pressing on the parts they have not yet defended. Most of them present that work twice: once while it is still wrong, and once after their classmates have taken it apart.
What I want a student to carry out of the room is the reflex of asking what would have to be true for this to hold. That reflex outlasts the reading list, and it is the part they use in a laboratory, a courtroom or a newsroom ten years on.
Written for this form as an illustration, not by a member of faculty. It is an account of how you teach and what a student leaves able to do — degrees, positions and courses each have their own field on this form.
